About This Campsite
Aspen Meadows Campground
Aspen Meadows Campground offers a scenic getaway for campers seeking to experience the beauty close to Denver. Despite its stunning natural surroundings, the campsite presents a mix of experiences ranging from logistical challenges to site layout concerns. It is a place where the proximity to nature is balanced by certain practical limitations.Essential Tips and Considerations
- Site Layout: Campsites can be congested, especially sites like 1 and 2, 3 and 4. Privacy may be limited due to the layout, making it more suitable for group camping rather than solo escapes.
- Facilities: Be prepared for basic amenities. The bathroom facilities in certain loops might have ventilation issues affecting the smell.
- Reservations: Booking a stay might be challenging due to navigation issues with the reservation system. It is advisable to confirm your reservation with persistent efforts through the provided contacts.
- Weather Considerations: In adverse weather conditions, be prepared to manage any water pooling or flooding at tent sites. Assistance from hosts may be limited.
- Fees: Expect a daily site fee of $28 and an additional park pass fee of $10 per day, which can quickly add up if you're planning a longer stay.
Overall Thoughts
Aspen Meadows Campground is a beautiful location with certain challenges. While it offers a convenient camping option close to Denver, potential campers should be mindful of the site conditions, reservation hurdles, and extra fees. It can be particularly rewarding for group campers who might benefit from its proximity to nature blended with the rustic charm of the Colorado landscape.Photos

Crowded, expensive, really packed campsites, but beautiful. If you are looking for a nice quiet "get away" this is not it. The bathroom in the 15-27 loop has a horrible ammonia smell, possibly due to incorrect ventilation.

How TF do you book a reservation?!?!? Your link to the "website" takes you to a site that has you redirect to another site that then redirects to another site that has a search bar that doesn't have THIS campground in it's data base... The phone number provided is just 10-minute long recordings that never allows you to talk to anyone, nor do you have an opportunity to book a reservation there either.

Limited number of sites but fairly spaced out. One of my favorite camping spots because it’s so close to Denver.

Some of the camp sites are on top of each other, sites 1 and 2, & 3 and 4. Are like that, there are a number of campsites like that throughout the 35 site at Aspen Meadows. It is $28 dollar a day site fee, $10 a day park pass, and fellow campers having to walk thru your campsite. Nice place to have a group, not so much individually. The national parks and forest have private sites and fewer fees tacked in. I can not say I will be back.

Beautiful park, terrible hosts. We arrived when it was raining and found our tent site flooded. We knocked on the hosts RV door to see if we could switch tent pads with a nearby empty site for the night or if they had any idea how to deal with the water in ours and they looked at us like we were disturbing them. They sent us to the other campsite to talk to park staff about switching (even though it was after hours and they should have known the facility would be closed). They then went back into their RV leaving us to figure out what to do in the pouring rain. Probably the rudest camp hosts we’ve ever met. We spent the next hour “sweeping” water out of our tent pad, getting water and mud everywhere in the freezing cold, and then woke up the next day with our tent sitting in the reformed puddle. We left the next morning a day early. The park is lovely but the experience was awful. Not worth the money. Expect no help or empathy whatsoever from the hosts if you come here.
